This week has been about foundations.
A lot of my time has been taken up by daily work outside of music and the goals I have set to progress myself. Alongside that, I have been doing plenty behind the scenes to make sure the foundation beneath me as an artist has genuine room for growth, with a greater understanding of the risks involved.
Building this website has honestly been rejuvenating, to say the least. It has been great to see some of the smaller ambitions I have carried for my music career finally begin to take shape. I am excited to give my fans, and anyone discovering my work, one platform where they can access my music, learn more about me and eventually experience what I am creating through LYLTY.
One of the biggest considerations surrounding the clothing has been cost. I want the products to be made properly, but I also want to find a price that is fair to the people supporting me. I never want fans to feel left out of pocket just because they want to represent something I have created.
Musically, I have also been reaching out to new creative minds for production and the other work that goes into completing a record. Finding the right people matters because the music cannot grow without the right relationships and talent around it.
The biggest obstacle right now is simply my lack of finances. It affects how quickly I can develop the merchandise, invest in my music and put certain plans into motion. It can be frustrating having the ambition and ideas before having all the resources needed to execute them. Still, I am trying to use this time to prepare properly so that when opportunities arrive, there is already something strong beneath them.
Spiritually, I am going through a bit of a bump right now. Even during that uncertainty, I feel blessed to have platforms that I can use to spread the glory of God. Faith is not always about pretending everything feels easy. Sometimes it means continuing to recognise the blessing and purpose while working through the difficult parts.
Above everything, I want this platform to show that I am human. I am another person trying to grow, create and make sense of things. No man should be worshipped other than Jesus Christ.
I also want to remain accessible to supporters who might need a hand, whether they are struggling spiritually or mentally. I want the relationship between myself and the people supporting me to feel human. Not distant, manufactured or built around pretending I am something greater than them.
Finalising the foundation of this website has been my clearest win this week. It is becoming a proper home for the music, the clothing, my faith and the honest thoughts behind everything I am trying to build.
The next objective is to give you the first glimpse of my next release.
To everyone taking the time to listen, read and grow alongside me, thank you. This is still the beginning, but the foundation is finally taking shape.
